Visual Sound:
Chicago Artists Coalition Annual Gala
CAC is a non-profit organization that supports contemporary Chicago artists and curators by offering residency programs, exhibitions, professional development, and resources that enable them to live, work and thrive in the city. CAC is deeply committed to advancing the cause of art and its importance to Chicago’s culture and economy by cultivating a wide-reaching civic, philanthropic, and public support network.
CAC's 2025 gala event is called “Visual Sound.” Because of this, they are highlighting multi-media artist Camille Norment. Her work utilizes the notion of cultural psychoacoustics as both an aesthetic and conceptual framework. It investigates the socio-cultural phenomena through sound and music - particularly instances of sonic and social dissonance, and works through sound as a force over the body, mind, and society. Camille performs as a solo artist, with other musicians in selected projects, and with her ensemble,
the Camille Norment Trio.
